Conferences such as Fresh Focus take a lot of organising. The vision that has developed over the months is to hold annual evangelistic rallies in London, bringing together senior speakers from the UK and overseas in order to reach London’s multicultural population. It has been a privilege for Trevor and me to help with all the background preparation, including booking speakers, arranging worship leaders and motivating churches.
This year’s Fresh Focus conference had five evening rallies (one of which I preached at) and six teaching sessions, spread over two afternoons (one of which I spoke at). The event was a real success with testimonies of healing, only surpassed by the joy of seeing many people each evening committing their lives to the Lord Jesus.
As I preached on
The Logic of the Cross I could see the impact of the Gospel on people’s lives. Of all the things I do in ministry, presenting people with the opportunity to respond to the Good News is still my greatest joy. Community transformation must always go hand in hand with personal transformation.
 Enjoying preaching at Fresh Focus!

Dr Kumuyi, with Fresh Focus leaders and congregation
|
The vision for Fresh Focus came initially from Deeper Life Bible Church, led by Dr William Kumuyi. I am so grateful for the role I have had in London over more than two decades now, helping diaspora churches develop UK-relevant programmes. The fact that these days Trevor and I are increasingly helping so many other churches around the world with similar issues of community relevance owes much to our years of experience in London.
Please pray that God will open more doors for me to play my part in promoting community transformation and personal transformation.
