Resources for small groups
The messages on our DVDs are set as a series of separate tracks. This means that each message can be watched uninterrupted or, if you choose, be viewed as four separate tracks: introduction, point 1, point 2, point 3 and conclusion; all selectable from the menu.
The tracks vary in length (mostly between 10 and 20 minutes) so it is extremely easy to select a discussion starter that is appropriate for your group. The titles of the sections are displayed on the menu and are all relevant to the overall topic of the DVD, which in turn contributes to the theme of the whole series.
The number of formatted DVDs we have available is constantly increasing as we reformat series that were originally broadcast on television. We are also consistently recording new material.
Most of our DVD series have six messages on six separate DVDs, each of which then is divided into four tracks.
For example, "Living an Effective Life" has six messages:
breaking free from pride and cynicism, breaking free from impurity, breaking free from addiction, breaking free from dishonesty, breaking fee from rage, breaking free from selfishness.
If we take the "Breaking free from impurity" message, the four tracks are:
introduction, the darkness of condemnation, the glare of exposure, the light of life and conclusion.
Between them they provide a great selection of three or four discussion starters.
If you decide to use a full six-part series for a complete course, you will have at least 18 excellent discussion starters to select from.
The reports that I have had from those who use my DVDs for small group discussion starters, confirm that following the DVDs the groups are easy to lead and productive discussion flows without any great difficulty.
I am confident that this will be your experience too.
